As care homes across the country have gone into lockdown to ward off the spread of the coronavirus to the most vulnerable, residents and staff at Bernash have come up with a novel idea to reassure their loved ones. Heartwarming pictures of resident’s holding up handwritten messages for their family members have been posted on the ‘Friends of Bernash’ Facebook page to keep up their spirits. Shelley Turnbull, Manager, said “the staff took the novel approach because it wanted to show that despite the coronavirus pandemic residents were ‘carrying on smiling'”.
