Christmas is fast approaching and our team has been hard at work planning a magical Christmas for all our residents. We have a number of activities planned over this month to bring our residents together and benefit from the joy that Christmas brings. We’d love to share with you our plans and what we’re working on.
Christmas Decorations
Bernash Care Home prides itself on being a home-from-home and a comfortable place to live, and at Christmas, it is no different. Around the home, our team with help from residents who wished to participate, have turned Bernash into a winter wonderland!Â
We have three trees to be enjoyed as well as other decorations around the communal areas to set the mood.
Christmas Hampers
To make Christmas Day extra special we have put together individual hampers for each of our residents. With Bernash being a relatively small care home, the care team gets to know each of the residents personally. This means we are aware of the likes and dislikes of each resident and know exactly what gifts will make them smile.Â
Events in the Run up to ChristmasÂ
We’re celebrating through December with many events organised by our hard-working activities coordinators.
Christmas BingoÂ
Christmas bingo sessions are in full swing. Our festive bingo evenings really get our residents in the festive spirit. This promotes socialisation in the home and all the long-term benefits that brings, as well as the thrill of the win!Â
Our Christmas Bingo winners get to choose from a variety of festive prizes for them to enjoy.Â
Festive Arts and Crafts
There has been even more opportunity than usual for our residents to get arty over the festive period. With a variety of different artistic mediums, we’ve all been getting creative!Â
The mental benefits of art and being creative are numerous and the residents get to display their work in their rooms or around the home, to add to the festive decorations.Â
Care Home Christmas PartyÂ
We were hard at work preparing for our Christmas Party on the 21st of December. It was an exciting afternoon of singing and games. We also had a singer booked who performed for the residents. Christmas jumpers were encouraged to get everyone feeling as festive as possible, and our staff were in Christmas fancy dress. Â
Christmas Dinner at Bernash
It just wouldn’t be right to have Christmas without a full Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. The team has been preparing to make dinner as special as possible. With new festive cutlery, crackers and decorations.Â
Our residents can expect a delicious traditional turkey roast, along with mince pies and mulled wine in the afternoon.
Visiting us Over Christmas
We are pleased to say there are not any regulations or rules for visiting your loved one at Bernash during the Christmas period. We are looking forward to welcoming the family of the residents to join the festivities.
